About My ND
From time to time our bodies force each one of us to face fears about our health and well-being. From the new mother concerned about her child’s eczema, to the young adult facing a diagnosis of autoimmune disease, to the older adult facing a cancer diagnosis – we are suddenly unsure about this body and how to bring it back to a state of health. Oftentimes, conventional medicine offers a ten-minute appointment and a pill or cream, and you are still left uncertain. You want more. You want to know what you can do in your day-to-day life that can help you to feel healthy again.
My goal is to walk with patients through that journey of regaining health. As I work with each and every one of my patients, I work to re-establish that foundation that we all need in order to live our best lives. We need to breathe deeply into our abdomen. We need to eat healthful, nutritious food that will support our body’s biochemistry. We need to sleep soundly. We need to find a source of joy.
This can be challenging to take on alone. We are each individuals, so the optimal diet for your neighbor is likely different from what might work from you. Your best friend might find joy in gardening while you despise digging in the soil. By working one-on-one with my patients and taking a careful history that takes the individual into account, we discover what you need to find a healthful balance and optimize your health.
For over a decade I have worked with patients both in a hospital setting and in private practice as they have dealt with chronic disease. I am a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (FABNO), and have advanced training in integrative oncology. Integrative cancer care involves addressing more than the side effects of conventional treatment, it involves supporting a person’s mental and emotional health. I take statistics and turn them into a plan for the individual using evidence-based naturopathic recommendations.

About Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine utilizes both modern and traditional methods to help support your body’s ability to heal itself, and to help bring your body back into balance naturally.
Naturopathic doctors attend four-year, graduate-level naturopathic medical school and are educated in all of the same basic sciences as an MD, but also study holistic and nontoxic approaches to therapy with a strong emphasis on disease prevention and optimizing wellness. In addition to standard medical curriculum, the naturopathic doctor also studies clinical nutrition, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, psychology, and counseling.
Our Principles
The following principles are the foundation to naturopathic medical practice
The Healing Power of Nature
Naturopathic doctors act to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment the body’s inherent self-healing process.
Identify and Treat the Cause
The naturopathic doctor seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.
First Do No Harm
Naturopathic doctors utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, avoid when possible the harmful suppression of symptoms; and acknowledge, respect, and work with individuals’ self-healing process.
Doctor as Teacher
Naturopathic doctors educate their patients and encourage self-responsibility for health.
Treat the Whole Person
Naturopathic physicians treat each patient by taking into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors.
Prevention
Naturopathic doctors emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness.

About Naturopathic Oncology Care
Naturopathic doctors trained in integrative cancer care play an important role in the support of people diagnosed with cancer through survivorship. They provide evidence-informed guidance on safe and effective use of natural and supportive therapies, when combined with conventional treatment. Combining naturopathic and conventional medicine, supports the pursuit of best possible outcomes for patients. Goals are to improve quality of life, manage of side effects, help with speed recovery, prevent recurrence, and provide education for a healthy lifestyle.
